Greeting & Hospitality
When you come to Grace Vancouver, we want you to feel at home. One of the first things we hope you'll notice when you come on a Sunday morning is our greeters’ smiles.
Our team of greeters help get things ready to welcome both church family members and especially new guests to our Sunday gathering. They pray for a spirit of welcome, prepare coffee and snacks, hand out bulletins, answer people's questions and take initiative to talk with newcomers and others they haven't met yet before the service and during the coffee time after service.
Our hospitality team facilitates the process of newcomers and regulars getting to know each other beyond the initial hello and small talk through a chat over coffee or a meal in someone's home. They also help other avenues of church life grow in being welcome to all whom God sends our way.
The Word of God clearly instructs us to extend the welcome we have received from God to everyone around us : "When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God. " (Leviticus 19:33-34).
Why not say "hello" to someone you haven't met yet or invite someone over for a meal?
